The tips and tricks shared by facilitator Alison Peters helped the year 12 students understand what was required in a resume and the dos and don’ts when applying for jobs. Participants also learnt the importance of their ‘online footprint’ and to check the content on their social media accounts as many employers do ‘Google’ potential employees.
Although a few nerves leading up to the mock interviews all participants did really well in a group interview environment with the ability to learn off one another. After discussion with parents/ guardians many thought is a wonderful idea and opportunity for Year 12’s to experience this process and gain a greater understanding of what is involved.
The group interview was facilitated by Julie Ramm and Alison Peters and participants were provided with ‘mock’ companies within the retail, hospitality and office/administration sectors. Participants found the workshop helpful, worthwhile and interesting.
The CRC hope to hold this workshop in the term three school holidays for Year 11 students and the general public. Watch this space for our next workshop!
