Breastscreen WA provides over 100,000 screening mammograms every year and visit almost 100 rural towns every two years. The purpose of the mobile van is to reach those women in regional areas and provide the same quality of service which is available in the metropolitan region. It is an accredited partner of Breastscreen Australia and the service is free for women over the age of 40.
Medical Director of Breastscreen WA, Dr Elizabeth Wylie, said a free screening mammogram is one of the best things that women can do to look after their health. Breast screening saves lives and only takes 20 minutes.
Breastscreen WA will visit Dumbleyung from August 30 til September 1 and all are encouraged to book an appointment. The van will be located on Bennett Street, opposite the Dumbleyung Swimming Pool. If you can’t make the Dumbleyung dates the mobile van will then move to Wagin and Darkan where you can also book an appointment.
