The event turned tables for those who normally volunteer, run and arrange fundraising initiatives, to relax and enjoy an afternoon dedicated to them and their families.
Starting at 4:30pm at Nenke Park, the event included a camel train ride for children and a free evening sausage sizzle.
Open to everyone in our community, the afternoon focused on entertaining the children while the parents could sit back, have a break with a social gathering and sausage sizzle. This certainly went to plan, making for a noisy afternoon filled with shrieks of excitement from the children and plenty of laughs and chatter amongst the locals.
Approximately 50 people attended with four emergency service volunteer groups represented, two School P&C groups represented and representatives from a few local sporting clubs.
This event was made possible thanks to Volunteering WA and Lotterywest for their funding contribution to this event and Humpy Camels for travelling a long way and doing an amazing job of entertaining the kids!
