Thursday evening, April 4th was the first of a number of community organised events that the CMCA attended. A sundowner with delicious food and byo drinks near the ANZAC memorial was organised and catered by Stubbs Park Board of Management. The members of Stubbs came together to assist, donating time or food to towards the event. Catering for 120 people was a feat but Hannah Chiswell and Pip Gooding catered perfect quantities with no food left over and everyone enjoying the delicious food provided.
Friday morning April 5th, was the Dumbleyung P&C’s time to shine, catering a scrumptious morning high tea for 150 people. As everyone dined on sweet treats and savoury bites, the students from Dumbleyung Primary School performed an ANZAC assembly for the group and was enjoyed by all! A massive morning to organise and a great fundraiser for the Dumbleyung P&C.
There was time for stomachs to settle, before dinner was catered by Kukerin Ag Society. Members of the CMCA returned to Stubbs Park Pavilion on Friday evening to feast on fish and chips. A fundraiser for the Kukerin Ag Society, almost all the ingredients were cooked with many continuing to the GODI following dinner to enjoy live music from the band, ‘Big Men Working’. Another amazing feat to organise and cater for the masses by the Kukerin Ag Society.
Overall, a massive well done to all clubs and people involved! Awesome work Stubbs Park Board of Management, Dumbleyung P&C and Kukerin Ag Society for overseeing these main events for the members of CMCA. The word on the street from our visitors and others couldn’t be greater and/or nicer with so many loving their time in our Shire and the lovely and friendly people in the community.
Well done to all who made the stay for the CMCA a great one!
