Most recently, the McGowan Government handed down the 2017-18 state budget and forward estimates. As part of the Government review of all Royalties for Regions initiatives (which includes all CRC’s) we will see a 38.5% reduction in funding from the 19/20 budget onwards. This cut equates to approximately a $5million dollar reduction to the network, dropping from $13 million per year to $8 million per year.
We need to remember these are only forward estimates and your community hub, the Dumbleyung CRC is still here. The whole network is optimistic and hopes the review brings positive news for everyone! To assist us in sharing our good news stories and the impact CRC’s have in our communities, the network is working together on a ‘Positive Impact Postcard Campaign’.
The ‘Positive Impact Postcard Campaign’ is a simple way for you, our centre users and supporters, to share and highlight the reason/s why you love our centre! The postcards will be addressed and postage pre paid ready to be sent to Local Members in the Upper and Lower House of Parliament.
Help us demonstrate to our local members of government the importance of the CRC in our Shire! Pop into the CRC and complete a postcard, and we’ll make sure it gets to where it needs to be!
Below, is a flyer of what the ‘Positive Impact Postcard Campaign’ looks like, and how it works! 20,000 postcards have been printed to help spread the positive impact our centres are having across our great state! Pop in and see Ally, Davina or Paige and fill yours in today!
