Owner Nigel Oakey donated the voucher in thanks for CWA involvement with the Taste of the Great Southern Dinner in Katanning earlier this year. The branch decided to raffle it.
CWA branches support local needs and donate to State Projects including the State Emergency and Welfare Fund. Last year CWA of WA directed $145,000 to Association projects including education scholarships and welfare assistance. Monetary Awards are given annually for Young Volunteers, Rural Medical Scholarship, Rural Dental Scholarship, Nursing Scholarship, and for Rural Student first year at Uni.

Over $155,000 was donated to charitable organisations. At this year's conference, $50,000 was donated to Alzheimer's Australia Research Foundation, the Statewide fundraiser recipient for the year.
The CWA Albany Seaside Flats are another important State Project of the Country Women’s Association of Western Australia. Please note, you do not need to be a member to access an affordable seaside holiday, although members do get reduced rates.
