Your local Dumbleyung Police will be out and about over the majority of Easter this year in an effort to make the roads safer for all of us.
We want to see everyone reach their destinations safely and to enjoy their time off with their family and friends. To achieve this, we will be looking for those who are choosing to place themselves and every other person on the road at risk.
Yes, choices. Drink driving, speeding, not wearing seat belts and using mobile phones while driving are choices drivers make on our roads, choices which can kill.
If you are travelling somewhere for Easter, make smart choices and be patient on the road. Leave with plenty of time so you can stick to the speed limit and have ample stops to recharge and avoid fatigue. Make sure you and your family are wearing seatbelts and put the phone on silent, so it can’t distract you. And please, do not drink and drive.
For those who are away for the break, leave your property locked up and let us and your neighbours know you are away. If your neighbours are away, keep an eye out and let us know of any suspicious behaviour on their property. We are happy to do patrols of your properties if you are going away, just let us know where and how long.
We wish you and your family a safe and happy Easter.
