Saturday 13 July, our sponsor Steve Westbrook of Nexus attended and just loved the course, playing off an 11 handicap and still scoring 39 points.  If was awesome that he could attend, sporting a new look, very debonair.   Nexus sponsors many great events and ours is one of them so thank you very much for your continued support of our small club.

Firstly, a mention about the man who had never scored an Eagle, Lee Smith.  Not only did he Eagle No 4 but continued on his merry way and decided that once in the groove he would get the daily double with an Eagle on No 8 which was also best third shot.  Lee did mention that he nearly went in and took over babysitting duties with his poor effort on back 9.  But as all good golfers do, he soldiered on and now it is history.

At last hitting fine form with a brilliant 44 points was definitely the run-away winner, master barman and jack of all trades, THE MAN, Dave Wall.  Runner-up on a countback from Paul Ward was once again Gary Bateup still continuing his good form.  Maybe his lower score this week was attributed to playing with hookers, but then if he hadn't decided to try to hit bird nests out of trees, he just might just have scored higher.  Stories to tell will have to stay on course, as we don't need Audrey knowing anything, do we!!!!  Winning the Gross was Paul Ward with 22 points.  Novelties were won by Sharleen Powell, Stephen Lee and Paul.

After a very hectic week, winner for the ladies and hitting herself into form was Margie Ward.  Margie's hitting form was certainly following in Gary's footsteps trying to hit every tree on the course. Tamara Bartram was runner up, running to try and keep up with Gary, on a countback from Sharleen Powell, back from her Greece holiday- winning the Gross.

Next week will be sponsored by Wishbone Transport with a Stroke event. A BBQ follows so please bring a salad or sweet to share.
