This year, Dumbleyung had many children involved. The Bennett family attended their first carnival with all three girls playing for Upper Great Southern (UGS) in the year 5/6 age group. Evelyn, Dayna and Sophie Bennett enjoyed their first carnival and next year it will be a bit closer to home with them moving to Busselton. Dayna is in Year Three and Sophie in Year Two and were filling in for Evelyn’s team who were short on numbers. Hollie Grzinic, who lived in Dumbleyung a few years ago also played on the same team as the Bennett’s. The Bairstow family have been attending the carnival for many years and enjoy time with Carmen’s sister Sharon and family while there. Danee played in the year 9/10 age group for UGS while Orson chose to play for Wolves (his Perth team) in the year 7/8 category.
Ex Dumbleyungite Aimee Grzinic also played with Danee for UGS as she and her family now live in Narrogin where Doz is in the police force and Lana nurses at the hospital. Charlotte Edwards attended for Lower Great Southern Hockey Association with proud Nana and Pop Edwards watching every game and Marisa was manager of this team. Tully Joy played well in the Lower Great Southern Team with Ronnie and Steven avid watchers on the sidelines, having left Brontee and Stephanie in Albany with Ma and Pa Ramm. The Ball family were kept busy with three different teams, Sienna (9/10) and Carie (7/8) played for Lower Great Southern as they both go to boarding school in Albany and Blair played in the year 5/6 age group for UGS. They also enjoy the trip to catch up with family in Busselton.
A great weekend was had by all, and we will all be back next year.
