Ell is an ex-Dumbleyung Landcare officer, and shared her story of how she has been able to reduce their household daily waste plus a few tips and tricks on recycling and upcycling. Some of the simple tips we can all include in our daily lives are - taking your own travel coffee cup when on the run, choosing not to purchase fruit and veg with added packaging and using cloth nappies.
After much discussion, ideas and questions for Ella, everyone enjoyed the fashion parade, which included a variety of donated goods from the pop-up op shop. Helen Gooding and Alison Peters modelled casual/daily wear through to evening wear/ race attire. MC of the day Pip Gooding, took the floor and excelled on the mic – what a great saleswomen - many clothes were purchased as a result of the event. Thank you and well done Pip!
Following the parade, everyone browsed the op shop racks and over 75 purchases made on the day with part proceeds going to the Breast Cancer Foundation and/or the CRC.
Couldn’t make the event? No worries! The pop-up op shop will be open until Friday September 22, so please pop in and bag yourself a bargain!
Thank you to everyone who donated clothes, attended the event and/or have popped in and purchased clothing since Friday’s event.
