The third annual MAYyouDARE community challenge ended last Thursday with over $1800 raised for the three charities and the CRC – a MAYyouDARE record! Locals Howie Ward, Chloe McDougall and Peter Joyce were selected at random to participate in this year’s initiative with Howie Ward receiving the greatest donations and winning his charity, Ronald McDonald House a donation of $544.53. The remaining 50% will go towards the CRC to help us in our efforts to be a sustainable organisation given looming funding cuts to take place in early to mid-2019.
A few last donations saw Howie clearly take the lead with Chloe not far behind during the challenge. Our winner, Howie will now dine on the finest bush tucker thanks to Wuddi Cultural Tours who are helping us to create a bush tucker ‘feast’ of witchetty grubs, emu pate and a few other surprises!
Howie will complete the challenge in the CRC and once a date chosen you can come along to cheer him! The challenge will be promoted in the Quack Chat – watch this space!!
