After winning the qualifying day in Katanning in August, Tamara Bartram, Karen Ward, Cheryl Snell and Margie Ward (Lakeview Lassies) headed to Mandurah Country Club in October to play in the Regional Final along with PGA Professional Tristan McCallum.

They had a blistering day and won that event with a score of 51.4 and were then on their way to play in the Australian Final of the Holden Scramble Ladies Teams.  It was at this presentation that Team Captain Tamara Bartram realised she was double booked for the 24th to the 29th of November and had to make the hard decision, golf or family.  True to her family she looked for someone to take her spot at the final in Queensland and Davina Gossage was called up and made the 5th Lakeview Lassie.

The four lassies headed off to Twin Waters in Maroochydore for 5 fabulous days and played 4 lots of 18 holes along with welcome dinners, theme night with “What Happens in Vegas” and a superb Gala Evening on Monday night.  The team along with their Professional Tristan did the best they could with the Twin Waters Golf Course which was quite foreign to the ladies, so many bunkers and the rough was totally different than the rough at Lakeview as was the grass greens.  Although they brought up 6th spot in the Ladies Team event, they were not disgraced with their three rounds that counted, even, two under and one under.

They rubbed shoulders and played the 17th hole with Olympian Marcus Fraser and met so many lovely people from all over Australia.   The PGA, Holden and Twin Waters Resort and Golf Club had everything organized and they just had to enjoy it all.  Although they are not allowed to play together again as a team for 3 years they look forward to trying to get to the finals again and encourage all other golfers to do so.  See you all at Lakeview in April for the start of 2017 golf.
