Bridal Creeper Spotter’s Required
As a small group of keen walkers were venturing through the Hospital bush recently they sighted a few early plants of Bridal Creeper. The Shire will be supporting the spraying of this weed again and a program is in place to spray hotspot areas where we can achieve positive results and prevent further spread. Volunteers were successful in spraying Bridal Creeper in the Kukerin and Dumbleyung Townsites in 2016, however if these sites have new infestations they can be targeted again. To confirm where this is growing and therefore keep your Town Bridal Creeper free, I would appreciate the assistance of any keen walkers willing to locate it and report it to me. If you are happy to volunteer as a Spotter please collect a roll of marking tape from the Landcare Office and after marking an infested site you can either text a pic of the immediate area or phone and register the site and I will endeavour to have it included in the spray program.
