The LCDC will offer a 25 cent subsidy (ex GST) to a maximum of 1000 seedlings and will encourage orders to be a minimum of 10 trays (saltbush has 100 seedlings per tray) and must be planted in the shire next year. Orders will be on a first come basis as the total subsidy will be capped at $4,500.
The purpose of the subsidy is to encourage paddock revegetation to combat wind erosion, provide out of season fodder for stock, re-establish cover on saltland, stabilise creeklines, shade and shelter for stock or just to entice the birds and the bees back into the local environment.
First time tree planters or those who have not received free seedlings (project funded) in the past few years are encouraged to take this offer up.
Seedlings can be sourced from your preferred Nursery, but orders must be lodged via the Landcare Office. Delivery from Tincurrin may be arranged to a central drop off in July 2020, however you are encouraged to arrange for your own pick up.
If you require a site inspection to confirm suitable species to plant or need advice on site preparation techniques, please contact Claudia. The LCDC have a twin disc ripper mounder available and for a nominal donation you can use it for a full or half day to prepare your site. You will be responsible to fence the site to prevent stock grazing the trees and no stock until the saltbush has established.
You will be invoiced by the Nurseries for full payment of your seedling order.
You can supply your banking details when you place your order at the Landcare Office and the subsidy of $250 (+ GST) will be credited to your bank account after you have planted your trees.
