In a surprising find, a little over 1.3kg of high quality cannabis material was located in an esky in the boot of the car, which at about $50 a gram on the street, constitutes a significant amount.
The drugs were destined for the Albany community and intelligence gained from the find resulted in a search warrant being executed at an Albany address. More drugs and cash were located during this search.
Dumbleyung Police charged a 22yr old female with possession of cannabis with intent to sell or supply and possession of drug paraphernalia while Albany Detectives charged another female with similar offences.
This seizure demonstrates how your local police in a small community can have a significant impact in the larger Great Southern area.
While the police have our own methods of gathering intelligence on drug related activity, we encourage the public to report such behaviour or suspicions to us either directly to your local station or via the Crimestoppers line on 1800 333 000. Every small piece of information helps us to remove drugs from the community.
