Tony York, WA Farmers President, said the recipients have continually worked hard to advance West Australian agriculture and to act on behalf of WA Farmers Members on all matters of interest. Local Sue McDougall was awarded with a ‘Distinguished Service Award’. Sue has been a Zone Secretary from 1976 til 1978 and again from 1982 until 2002 when the title then changed from Zone Secretary to Zone Coordinator until today – what an amazing achievement!
WA Farmers President Tony York, said Sue has remained loyal to the Zone and wider community, working tirelessly to organise meetings, source interesting guest speakers, venues and sponsors.
“She continues to make the Zone President's job very easy, organising the smooth running of all events, setting up, supplying food from her own kitchen - she is the backbone of our Zone Meetings.”
“She is renowned for going the extra mile in caring for her family, particularly over the last few years, and we could not think of a more deserving winner of this award for 2017.”
