Will this year see Peter Bedford of The GODI, win the hotly contested MAYyouDARE competition and enthuse patrons with his karaoke skills whilst exhibiting a magnificent costume?!
Peter’s chosen charity is the Royal Flying Doctor Service which responds to needs in country Australia and has done for over 90 years. RFDS is one of the most comprehensive aeromedical organisations in the world and is also one of the largest. The RFDS assists someone every 2 minutes of every day!
Over 7.69 million square kilometres are covered by the 24-hour RFDS emergency service with an excellent provision of extensive primary health care. In 2018 26,863,558 kilometres were covered by the fleet of 70 aircraft across Australia. Amazingly this is equivalent to over 600 flights around Earth or 34 trips to the moon and back!
MAYyouDARE is a community challenge and fundraiser in which the community can donate to one or all three community members participating in the challenge. The person who receives the greatest donations during the month of May then must complete a dare. The dare for 2019 is to lip-sync/karaoke to a song chosen by the CRC in an outfit chosen by the CRC. Donations to each person will be shared 50% to the charity and 50% to the CRC – helping to keep our doors open and to assist in hosting workshops and events for the community.
You can donate to Shane and his cause at the CRC, Kukerin General Store and the Dumbleyung District Club. Or online (see details below).
