Leukaemia is the general name given to a group of cancers that develop in the bone marrow. Grouped in two ways – by the type of white blood cell affected (lymphoid or myeloid) and how quickly the disease develops. Acute Leukaemia appears suddenly and grows quickly while chronic Leukaemia appears and develops gradually.
To help raise money for the Leukaemia Foundation, local Shane Hall is one of the lucky (or not so lucky) community members who is participating in this year’s fun community MAYyouDARE challenge!
MAYyouDARE is a community challenge and fundraiser in which the community can donate to one or all three community members participating in the challenge. The person who receives the greatest donations during the month of May then must complete a dare. The dare for 2019 is to lip-sync/karaoke to a song chosen by the CRC in an outfit chosen by the CRC. Donations to each person will be shared 50/50 to the charity and the CRC – helping to keep our doors open and to assist in hosting workshops and events for the community.
If you would like to donate to Shane and this worthy cause, we are accepting donations at the CRC, the Kukerin General Store and the Dumbleyung District Club. Alternatively, you can donate online (see details below):
