Can you believe one year has gone by since its first use? Within the first year, the service has been used 34 times – what an asset and advantage to our District Community!
For those new to the district, or just unaware of the available service please seek the information from the CATS Coordinator Helen Gooding on 0427 530 204 or the Shire of Dumbleyung and learn how you too can make life easier to live in our district.
The cost of the trip is covered by the Government’s Royalty for Regions PATS Scheme. There was a small contribution from users to pay towards the fuel cost, but the local Fire Brigade stepped in and contributed unused allocated money to the CATS scheme, so basically the trip can be free. A big thanks to them.
Information for the service is available from the CATS Coordinator Helen Gooding on 0427 530 204, the Shire Office on 9863 4012 or the Dumbleyung Community Resource Centre on 9863 4829 or via admin@dumbleyungcrc.com.
The success of this service owes a big thank you to those who supported it. Those being the Shire Council and our gratitude to the Bains Family making money available; The St Johns group for making their spare building available to house the car, to Helen Gooding who took on the large task of coordinating the service and especially the volunteer drivers. Plus, a special mention to volunteer driver, Barry Clarke who has made a massive commitment, always putting his hand up and to date has made 15 trips!
The service is available to all Shire of Dumbleyung residents, so feel free to do what you find difficult and use it.
