Please continue to be on the lookout for suspicious people and behaviour and report these to us as soon as possible. Any piece of information is welcome but the more details, the more we can do with it. Car number plates and clothing descriptions are very important bits of information for us to be able to follow up on your observations.
Even if no offence is committed or reported, we follow up your reports and where we can identify the suspicious person, we certainly let them know that we know what they are up to. When the perception that our whole community is watching out for and reporting suspicious behaviour, the risk of getting caught becomes too great for people to consider offending.
Information can be forwarded to us by phone or by email on Dumbleyung.Police.Station@police.wa.gov.au
If you wish to remain anonymous, you can report through Crimestoppers on: 1800 333 000.
On a lighter note, the rain has arrived!! After a long dry summer, it’s great to see some of that wet stuff fall from the sky. This makes it a good time of the year to check the rubber on your cars, tyres and wipers. Keep yourself and your family safe by making sure you have sufficient tread on your tyres, at least 1.5mm, although we would like to see more. We change our police vehicle tyres when they go under 3mm.
Don’t forget the windscreen wiper blades too, nothing worse than turning them on for the first rain to find they are brittle, damaged or old and do nothing more than smear the rain rather than wipe it aside!
Now that we are getting some rain, it’s the time of year a lot of our community begin ramping up preparations for this year’s crops. I would like to wish you all a successful 2019 out on the farms, and more importantly, a safe one.
I also look forward to catching up with many of you at the Taste Of Dumbleyung on Saturday 6th April. This is a fantastic community event which showcases the bounties our little patch of the world produces and the amazing people in it. Get along and support the day!
