We continue to have a nice quiet period as we move into spring. Crime wise we have only had one matter reported to us recently - a burglary within the Dumbleyung town site. As previously stated, we recommend keeping your doors and windows locked when you are away, and even when home as burglars can sneak in unnoticed. Please report any suspicious behaviour around yours and your neighbour’s properties to us directly, or call 131 444.
We would also like to congratulate everyone on yet another successful Kukerin Creek Bed Races and Burnout Competition. The event was very well attended and the crowd behaved well for the most part. Police from Dumbleyung and Tambellup patrolled the 3 days, and only minor issues eventuated. One individual was ejected and given a $500 fine for his inappropriate behaviour.
Very glad to see a number of locals helping behind the bar and food servery. We believe a very impressive profit was made for local clubs and services for the district. Well done!
We’re also pleased to report that our local fire brigade and ambulance officers have not had to deal with any serious crashes, at least not in our patch. We’ll be hoping that continues for a long time to come, especially with our local farmers starting to gear up for harvest next month. We would urge all to take care of each other on the roads. If you plan to drink, plan not to drive.
