Knowing exactly what you need after a cold morning bike ride, the Dumbleyung Cycle Club hosted the group for what the ‘Ride for Logan’ crew said was the ‘best morning tea of all morning teas’. After a quick rest, delicious food to re-energise, and a photo with the iconic Bluebird, the group were back on the road and off to Katanning.
Farmers met and cheered on the group at the end of driveways, communities came out in full force to share even more delicious cake and many donated as the group rode their way from Katanning to Albany. The ‘Ride for Logan’ crew definitely felt the love, support and appreciation as they travelled across South West, Western Australia and they thanked everyone along the journey.
A journey which after 1000+kms saw them arrive in Albany (from Perth) on Friday July 15th. Though there was little rest for the group as they added the final touches to the Ride for Logan Quiz night which saw a 450 strong crowd fill the gymnasium of Great Southern Grammar in Albany.
A successful and fun quiz night and auction, the group have raised over $100,000 for HeartkidsWA (smashing the original goal of $50,000). Heartkkids will now host two Heartkids Camps with the first to be held later this year at Rottnest Island. The CEO of Heartkids WA said that this is the single biggest fundraising total for the organisation ever!
Huge congratulations to Macca and Maureen Adams, Daniel Leary (Logan’s mate who initiated the idea) and the whole group behind the scenes that made the event such a success.
