The ‘Consider our Kids’ Program aims to raise awareness of drivers to reduce their speed in built up areas. Young children can at times find it hard to judge the speed of a moving vehicle and placing this into the mix with a speeding driver zooming past can have horrible consequences. Speeding drivers have been identified as a main contributing factor in road related deaths and serious injury in Western Australia – something we’d hate to see happen in our towns.
The timely message is a reminder to reduce your speed and be aware of children and pedestrians in and around town, especially during school holidays.
The stickers are to be placed on the green wheelie bins. Please place the sticker high on the side of the bin facing the oncoming traffic. Since the program began, more than 225,000 stickers have been placed on wheelie bins across WA.
To join in on this great initiative please collect your FREE sticker from the Dumbleyung CRC, the Shire of Dumbleyung or the Kukerin and Dumbleyung Post Offices.
