Arriving between sprinkles of rain, Santa and his helpers were pleased to not get wet as the gail force winds wouldn't allow for an umbrella!!
The well sheltered outdoor area was greatly appreciated by all, keeping everyone happy and dry.
The ‘Merry Man in Red’ had the audience laughing and singing along as he did a wonderful rendition of Jingle Bells along with a happy jingling dance. Then it was present time for all the good boys and girls of Dongolocking!
Santa may have eaten a bit more this year with a little extra excitement, as the hitch of the boat trailer broke when the 'Merry Man in Red' left - please note Santa was not injured in this incident.
The ever popular raffle was a highlight with young and old. With so many brightly gift wrapped hampers, nearly everyone got a prize and a lucky few more than one!
Jason Smith thanked Carly Smith, Matt Gilfellon, the Shire of Dumbleyung and Royalties for Regions for their fantastic contributions towards the successful enclosure. The new additions to the Dongolocking hall were perfect for the summer storm rain and wind – and all noted that the regular tarps wouldn't have survived the day, never lone the night.
It was hoped that Santa's boat arrival wouldn't spark a return of the February flood. Fortunately, the rain abated towards the end of the evening, leaving a sparkling starry night sky. The summer night sky was enjoyed by all as the generator ran out of fuel and the lights flickered to an end -marking the closure of another successful annual Dongolocking festive celebration!
