Kukerin Primary School
  • Kindy orientation took place last week, welcoming our 2019 Kindy kids and their parents to the school for the first of three orientation mornings. Five new Kindy kids will start with us next year! The next morning visit on the 13th of November will include a visiting speech pathologist who will talk to parents about the developmental milestones.
  • Thank you to St John ambulance officers Alex Adams and Kylie Read for once again coming to the school and giving a very practical presentation on treating snakebites to our Year 3 to 6 students. The children really engaged in presentation, asking meaningful questions and their favourite part, of course, was wrapping each other in pressure bandages.
  • Library book bag – the use of waterproof bag is necessary for students to protect library books as they are carried to and from school. Waterproof library bags are available to purchase from the school.
  • Swimming Training will commence Monday November 12 (week 6) and will be held at the Dumbleyung Swimming Pool o Mondays and Wednesdays. Expressions of interest to Karen Faulkner on 0407 385 983.
  • Blaster Cricket – boys and girls aged 5-11 years at the Harrismith-Dudinin Cricket Club on Saturday mornings. For more information contact Carmen Bayley 0438 881 053.
  • Vac Swim at Dumbleyung Saturday December 15 to Friday December 21 (7-day program, 45-minute lessons). To enrol or find out more visit www.education.wa.edu.au/swimming-lessons.

    • November 20 – Fine Edge Performance 2pm
    • November 27 – Kindy transition day 3 – 930am til 11am

  • Last month, Marine Safety Education Officers, Jason Beard and Miss Liz visited Dumbleyung Primary School to induct students on boating safety including; correct life jacket requirements, use of flares etc. Thank you to Jane and Graham Coad for the use of their boat and to Mr Stephens for towing it.
  • Seniors Day will include science activities and our school SDERA Resilience Day will be combined with our whole school assembly next Thursday November 15. We would like people to arrive from 1.20pm for an afternoon of entertainment followed by cups of tea and light refreshments. If you can bring a Senior or grandparent along we would love to see you and show of some of the things we have been doing.
  • Last week saw the school Disco at Stubbs Park, with 25 children in attendance! A few visitors travelled from Kukerin Primary School which was great. Mr McCormick’s DJ skills were put to great use with some fab music on the playlist. Pass the parcel, Limbo and Musical Statues were all played, and a lot of fun had. A big thank you to Vicki and Ric at the roadhouse for the generous donation of food.
  • Reminder that term 4 rule of ‘no hat no play’ applies. Please ensure your child has a hat in their bag for the week ahead.
  • Dates to remember
    • November 15 – SDERA Day Assembly, Seniors Day at 1.30pm
