Dumbleyung Primary School

  • Orientation was successful and the student’s enjoyed their time in their new classes with six Year 2’s heading up to the Senior Room with Miss Hughes and our new Kindys out in full force with Mrs Pearce.
  • The graduation was wonderful! The meal was excellent with the catering done by Tasty Treats Catering – Michelle Harris. Well done to Miss Hughes and Mrs Justins for organising a spectacular event.
  • SDERA Ride Your Bike to School Day was very exciting with IZZY attending to amaze all. Thank you to everyone who attended and big thank you to Mrs Ann Rintoul, who made the trip over from Narrogin to see what our classroom teachers have been doing with their students in Road Safety Awareness and the implantation of the SDERA (School Drug Education and Road Awareness resources. This was all funded through a CHAT grant (Changing Health Acting Together). We had a real community gathering with the Ambulance – Mr Rodney Frost and Mrs Suzanne Cronin; Fire Brigade – Captain Andrew Sheppard and Dave Stephens; Police – Senior Sergeant Alby Van den Berg and Constable Darryl Gaull and IZZY. Thank you to Mrs Laura Bartram for coordinating the day.
Dates to remember:

  • January 28 – Office Open

Kukerin Primary School

  • The school participated in a Public School Review last week and received a great outcome of ‘effective’. This excellent achievement is a demonstration to the unwavering efforts and commitment of staff, and the support of the school community in helping us to realise our vision for improvement. Thank you to everyone who directly participated on the day, including the parent P&C and our School Council representatives. The reviewers were very pleased that everyone was ‘in tune’ with the schools beliefs about effective learning and teaching and how our aim to achieve that at Kukerin Primary School.
  • Last Tuesday we welcomed our 2020 Kindy students and their parents to school for the final of three orientation mornings. The children have enjoyed themselves and were exciting to participate in the many amazing activities that had been set up by Miss Savage and Mrs Faulkner. All five children, three boys and two girls, mixed happily with current kindy and pre-primary students - a highly positive start to their schooling.
  • On the last day of school we will be having a fun afternoon of water games on the oval to celebrate the end of school year. Children are welcome to bring any water pistols, super soakers etc. along to school but no water balloons please. They will also need to bring bathers, rashies and a towel to dry off, so they can get changed back into their school uniforms for the bus trip home. Parents are most welcome to join in the fun.
Dates to remember:
  • December 19 – Last day of School Year Class Parties and Water Fun afternoon
