Kukerin Primary School
  • Last week on Tuesday the 3rd of March, Miss DeMarchi, Miss Doherty, Mrs Faulkner, Mrs Williams and Jenny Carter the Principal attended a Lakes Network combined schools staff development day.  The Lakes Network combined schools staff development day was a great opportunity to network and share knowledge and resources with our colleagues across the Lakes Network. We participated in the learning areas of English and Technologies. We look forward to implementing our new knowledge into our teaching and learning programs here at the school.
  • Please be aware that the Department of Health advises that the risk of transmission of Coronavirus is in Australia remains low and are monitoring the situation. The Department of Education, Catholic Education WA and the Association of Independent Schools of Western Australia will continue to respond as a collaborative team to advice from the WA Department of Health and will act on this advice to take any necessary precautions for schools. Students and staff cannot attend school if they have:
  • Left or transited through mainland China in the last 14 days.
  • Left of transited through Iran on or after 1 March and been informed by public health authorities that they have been in close contact with a confirmed case.
  • This also applies to all parents, carers, contactors, visitors and volunteers on school sites.
As a precaution, we have decided as a staff to reinforce with our students the importance of washing hands regularly as a part of their eating and toileting routines.
  • NAPLAN is commencing from Tuesday 14 of May through until Friday 24th of May. All students in the Years 3 and 5 across Australia will be participation in the National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN). For NAPLAN this year our students will be sitting NAPLAN online. Our Year 3 and 5 students will have the opportunity to do practice tests using the NAPLAN online environment so they are familiar with what they have to do.
  • Parent interviews will be held on Wednesday 1 April to discuss your child’s progress so far this year. If you cannot make it on this day please contact Deb by Wednesday 18 March so that she does not include you in the timetable and to work out another day and time.
  • A reminder to all students and parents that No Hat No Play policy is in all year round. Students are required to wear a school bucket hat. The new school bucket hats are available in two sizes S/M or M/L for $10. Please let Deb Doney know if you would like one sent home.
