CALL FOR NOMINATIONS TO BE A LOCAL GOVERNMENT COUNCILLOR OF THE SHIRE OF DUMBLEYUNG
You would be involved in running an organisation with the responsibility of making decisions that have a major impact on our lifestyle. As a representative of your community you will find the role enjoyable, challenging and stimulating with involvement in matters as diverse as recreation, libraries, the environment, town planning, health, roads and many more. 
* Meeting fees and some expenses are paid.

Robert & Daphne McIntyre Citizenship Award
Applications open 25th August 2017
The Robert and Daphne Citizenship Award is a $2750 donation towards education expenses open to any student from years 10 to 12 whose primary place of residence is in the Shire of Dumbleyung or the parents/guardians are ratepayers in the Shire of Dumbleyung.
Applications close on 22nd September 2017.  To be eligible, all applications MUST address the selection criteria. To obtain a copy of the Award application please contact the Shire of Dumbleyung on 98634012 or emaileedwards@dumbleyung.wa.gov.au.
 
Notice of Public Advertisement for Planning Proposal
The Shire of Dumbleyung has received an application to use and/or develop land and public comments are invited.  
Details of the proposal are available for inspection at the administration office or by clicking on the link below.  
Comments on the proposal may be submitted to the local government in writing on or before the 6th day of September 2017.

LAST CHANCE! ENROLLING TO VOTE CLOSES 1st SEPTEMBER
LOCAL GOVERNMENT ELECTIONS 21 OCTOBER 2017
BE A VOCAL LOCAL
You may be eligible to be enrolled to vote in the Shire of Dumbleyung in-person Local Government elections on 21st October 2017 if you live in or are an owner or occupier of a rateable property in the district of the Shire of Dumbleyung.
 
Residents
You are automatically enrolled to vote if you are on the State Electoral Roll as at 5.00pm 1st September 2017. If you are not already on the State Electoral Roll but meet the eligibility criteria for this Roll, a claim for enrolment can be made to any Divisional Returning Officer of the Australian Electoral Commission in Western Australia.  Forms are available from all post offices or the Western Australian Electoral Commission and must be completed and reach a Divisional Returning Officer by 5.00pm Friday 1st September 2017.
 
Non-Resident Owners and Occupiers
If you are a non-resident owner or occupier of rateable property in the Shire of Dumbleyung and are on the State or Commonwealth Electoral Roll, you are eligible to vote and should make an enrolment application to the Shire of Dumbleyung.  If you are not on the State or Commonwealth Electoral Roll and own or occupy rateable property in the Shire of Dumbleyung you may be eligible to enrol to vote if you were on the Shire of Dumbleyung’s last electoral roll prior to May 1996.  Please contact the Shire of Dumbleyung for details.  Owners of land who were on the last roll of the Shire of Dumbleyung continue to retain that status until they cease to own the rateable property to which the enrolment relates.  Occupiers do not have continuous enrolment and should contact the Shire of Dumbleyung to confirm their enrolment status.  To be eligible to enrol as an occupier, you will need to have a right of continuous occupation under a lease, tenancy agreement or other legal instrument for at least the next 3 months following the date of the application to enrol.
 
Joint Owners and Occupiers
If a rateable property is owned or occupied by more than two people, a majority of the owners/occupiers may nominate two persons from amongst themselves who are on either the State or Commonwealth Electoral Roll to enrol as owner/occupier electors.
 
Corporations

A body corporate that owns or occupies rateable property may nominate two people who are on either the State or Commonwealth Electoral Roll to enrol as owner/occupier electors.
 
Enrolment Forms
Enrolment claim forms can be obtained from the Shire of Dumbleyung or Australian Electoral Commission offices and should be lodged with the Chief Executive Officer, Mr Matthew Gilfellon, by 5.00pm Friday 1st September 2017.  If you registered for the 2015 election or since that time you do not need to register.
