The Shire of Dumbleyung is currently in the process of reviewing its Disability Access and Inclusion Plan (DAIP) alongside the Disability Service Commission of WA. The review is now inclusive of outcome seven which is a requirement under the Western Australia Disability Services Act 1993 (amended 2004). Amongst the review, the Shire has now based each outcome on a strategy that we strive to achieve. We are seeking feedback from the community on areas where we can further improve access to services, facilities and information for people with disabilities. The closing date for comments will be Tuesday 6th November 2018. HISTORICAL LOCALITY SIGN UPDATE
We are pleased to share that all Historical Locality Signs have now been completed and are in the final proofing stage. If you have any questions prior to the printing of these signs, please contact Nicole at the Shire of Dumbleyung by 30th October 2018.
As a bit of a recap on the project, we have been working with the concept of the content being of settling families, sporting groups and some interesting farm practices and structures. We are also documenting all families past and present in the ‘Families’ list. The majority of the sign content has been compiled from previous history publications.
The aim of this project is to document our history in a way that is also interesting to our future generations and tourists as part of a drive trail.
