The weather was threatening but held off until the event was over, and it was the perfect night to sit outside and enjoy our fabulous Lake. Musician Tom O’Brien entertained everyone, and created a wonderful atmosphere with his music. A breathtaking sunset capped off the event and all in all, it was a HUGE success!
Congratulations to raffle winners Candice Ward (1st), Jason Smith (2nd) and Davina Gossage (3rd).
A big and special thanks to our sponsors of the event - Independent Parts, Liquid Elements and Shane Hall Electrical. Thanks to SJ and Jorgi – who did a brilliant job in the bar, all our volunteers who assisted with setting up, generators, lights, cleaning up, supplying meat, and a special mention to Suzanne Cronin, who ensured the event ran smoothly and nothing was forgotten!
Overall, a great success wouldn’t be possible without the support of our community – thank you! We look forward to upgrading the lights in the coming weeks, ready for a busy summer down at our beautiful Lake.
Included in the busy weekend and on the other side of Lake Dumbleyung (at the Dumbleyung Ski Club) were lessons by the WA Waterski Association. Mark Duperouzel (WA Waterski Association) organised a great day with fellow member Sarah Green coaching many. An experienced water skier, Sarah has many major achievements under her belt, including 14 podium places at major tournaments since 2005, and four world cup podium places against some of the best in the world. Mark, son Jake (current WA Men’s State Champion Slalom Skier) and Sarah all really enjoyed their visit to Dumbleyung, the history of the Lake and Donald Campbell’s Story! Further thanks to all who participated in these lessons.
