Dumbleyung Men's Hockey Club

The Dumbleyung Men’s Hockey Club played at home, Stubbs Park, on Saturday July 2. Unfortunately the team didn't win, narrowly losing to the Narrogin Riffs 1-0.

The next game will be played on Saturday July 23 against Pingelly in Narrogin.

Dumbleyung Netball Club

After a solid training, the Ducks were looking forward to a good game against Kojonup 1.  With Janelle away, Katrina took the coaching reigns for the day.  We knew it was going to be a tough game, as Kojonup 1 are second on our Division 1/2 ladder and a tough game it was!

Although Kojonup dominated the court, our Ducks showcased some brilliant passages of play and in particular our defence who kept Kojonup from scoring more goals.  The final score was 67 – 5 to Kojonup.

Netball returns after the school holidays on Saturday 23rd July.  The new netball game times will be posted by the Katanning Netball Association very soon, so keep an eye out in the forthcoming Quack Chat’s for more details.

Due to the Men's Championships in Wickepin, a small but keen crowd played a 4BBB Combined Stableford for the Dumbleyung General Store trophies.   A big thank you to the General Store for your continued sponsorship; it is greatly appreciated.  Winners of the day were Bob Hannah and Tamara Bartram 74points with runners-up Howie Ward and Davina Gossage 67points.

Great to see Howie bring out his son-in-law Mitch, who plays off a 10 handicap in Canada, and Richard Timmins.  Also Dave Wall, even though injured, celebrating at the club with us all.  Novelties were won by Mitch, Davina x 3 and Tamara.

A big week coming up starting Friday with a Busy Bee at the Golf Club commencing at 1.00pm.  Please note Time Change for Saturday now commencing at 12.00pm with names in by 11.30am. A Stroke Competition qualifying round will be sponsored by Edwards Holden. This change is due to the Men’s open day on the Sunday. Please give your names to Marc Ball  or one of the committee members.

On Saturday June 25, Wagin Association played against Williams, Narrogin and Boddington associations for the Archie Meadows and Rob Cook trophies which is similar to A & B grade teams with six per side in a round robin.

Wagin came second in the Archie Meadows section and we won't mention the Archie Meadows. Six people are selected on performance to form an Allstars team from the day and Tom Spurr from Wagin was selected for the Archie Meadows and Gloria Bliss for the Rob Cook section.
