Being a final the first to win six games is the victor. We started on an even par, but began to fall behind with 4 games to 2 down after the first 6 games. But, our captain (Block) had a cunning plan and they fell into the trap. Bringing on our big gun BJ, who finished with the maximum number of pegs in a game, 3 pegs. Straight wins to BJ, Block, Roadhouse Rick and Graham, who won the 6th and winning game, gave us the next 4 games to win the night with Tanya in reserve. The winning team being Block, Ducky, Roadhouse Rick, BJ (John Williams), Tanya and Graham.
This puts us straight through to the grand final for our grade, which will be played on Saturday 3rd August in Wagin.

Winner of the day for the men was the inform lad, Daniel McDougall, with a great score of 42 points, the runner-up old foxy loxy, Bob Hannah with 39 who once again brought in the winner. Daniel’s partners were heard to say that they didn't think that Daniel was playing all that well, well nothing out of the ordinary, but it goes to show that Daniel is on the up and up playing like a professional golfer or the others played that badly they didn't really notice his brilliant shots. Gross was won by Ricky Mott with 22 points. Novelties were won by G Ball, G Jose, R Mott, D Wall and sponsor Matt Webb. Birdie Hole - no ladies scoring but this was drawn by Kobie Ward and Graeme Jose was the lucky winner.
Ladies’ winner was Sharlene Powell, hitting her straps with her best score off the stick of 98 for quite a few years on the Dumbleyung course blitzed the field with 36 points, would have won the putting comp if we had one. With a 45 off the stick on the 1st nine and 23 points she did get a bit tired, probably the heavy load she had to bear helping her opponent with scraping all day for the 2nd nine. Sharlene just can't wait until next week's stroke round to improve on her score. Runner-up on a countback from Liz Dare was Tamara Bartram with 32 points, her best score this season and the Gross was Liz. Well done to Ronnie for going the 18 rounds without an injury.
Remember to get a partner for the Men's 4BBB and Ladies Open 4BBB Stableford on Thursday 29th August.
Next week is a stroke round sponsored by Bunge.

We are just heading out of a heatwave (b…ot!!). I’m sitting above Menin Gate, Ypres, Belgium at the moment - enjoy my early morning walks.
Eric’s dreaming of golf - getting a bit rattled with your performance Lee, so off to Luxembourg to have a hit!
Menin Gate and Last Post which happens 8pm every night since 1928 - rain, hail or shine.
Eric’s grandfather lied about his age, went here for WWI and then was a bugler in WWII so very apt.

The D grade Cougars travelled to Wickepin on Sunday. With a few players back to high school from the previous weeks, it was going to be a tough day. Lucas Robinson was captain for the day and after winning the toss he elected to kick with a slight breeze. The first quarter was an even contest with both sides having a bit of the ball but not putting any goals on the board. Wickepin kicked away in the second term as they registered a couple of goals to put the Cougars on the back foot at half time.
The team seemed to find their mojo in the third quarter, and after some encouragement from the fans they scored a couple of goals to get themselves back in the contest. A hectic last quarter was on display as we were still behind with only minutes to play. Finally a snap from Howie Clegg got us in front with seconds left and we managed to hold onto to the lead until the final siren. The kids played fantastic once again and it was one of the best wins of the year.
Mars Bar kids- Khalen Pitcher & Max Clegg
Best Player- Lucas Robinson
Round 11 - Another good win against Narrogin.
Mars Bar kids- Preston Smith & Fletcher Ball
Best Player- Blair Ball
Thanks to Dumbleyung Roadhouse for the awards.
We will be playing in Wagin on Saturday this week. See you there.

A great game of hockey this weekend in Hyden. C grade won 8-2 with 3 goals to Ashleigh Faulkner, 2 goals to Gabriele Nenke and 1 goal each to Morgan Chatfield, Lily Hall and Gigi Francisco. Well done! Coaches award went to Hayden Leo and the Kit Kat award went to Scarlett Leo. 2 more games until finals!!
B grade had a great win against Hyden - Kalgarin! The team work and effort on the weekend is a testament to the hard work you've put into playing and working together over the past few weeks. Goals to Amy King and Amber McPherson. Coaches award this week was again very difficult because everyone played such a great game. However, there is only one award and it went to Amy King. Amy - all your hard work on the wing, and finally one went in the goal! Great job team and we look forward to meeting Corrigin at home this weekend. Thank you, as always, to our volunteers, umpires, sponsors, spectators and everyone else who makes our club great!
Saturday 27th July.
21 days until finals.
We started strong and the girls had good ball movement. They are running hard and talking well. We were starting very well.
6 minutes was what it took to produce the first goal. Tahryn hit the baseline bringing it in and popped it back for Julie. Great play and great positioning by both.
Later that quarter, in the 16th minute, apparently Michelle got one. Don't know how because i didn't see it, but I'm guessing it was another spud run.
Two goals thought the rest of the game by Anna saw us get home 4 nill.
Good game by the girls. 21 days until finals.
Thankyou to Jamie for Umpiring.
Coaches award: Anna Taylor
Our last game against Hyden for the fixtured season was set to be a good battle. Both teams started strong but it was Souths to gain the upper hand early. First half saw us take control of the game and play our open free flowing game. Almost down to 2 on the bench with a nasty blow to Jock and his Jocks but with a lil ice and some rearranging he was back out there and scoring a nice double for the game with a sliding defection for his second goal of the game. Start of the 3rd saw us drop the ball a bit and got back to bash crash hockey be we slowly sorted ourselves out. The final quarter showed how important fitness really is. In the end we finished the game 5-0 winners. Goals to Jock 2, Ben hall, Zhane and Beau. The guts award went to Jock for his massive efforts on the field. Congrats and well done to Hyden for there fighting spirit this year. Good luck to you in your last 2 games and finals.

Dumbleyung 1 welcomed our visiting duck Candice Lloyd who joined the team for a tough game against the DJets. With a brilliant start and a strong last quarter the team were unable to ”Qwack a win”.
While Joanna McCracken and Katrina Gray kept the goals flowing throughout the game, the team gave a good performance but sadly it was not enough.
Final score Dumbleyung 1 (31) to DJets (57)
Best players we're Hanna Chiswell, Clare Smith and Roisin Ball
