Dumbleyung Netball Club
Dumbleyung played Allstars 2 in what was a very physical game! This week also saw the return of Clare Smith (better known as Wattsy on the court) and Candice Ward and it was great to see them back! Both Wattsy and Candice played like they had never left the court!
Dumbleyung won the first centre pass and started very well with a good run of goals. But Allstars quickly woke up and responded by flying through the air and getting some brilliant intercepts at any angle. There flying intercepts are something they are very much known for. And just when our Ducks were in a great position, we were quickly brought back down ending the quarter seven goals down.
This week, the first quarter was not our best and our Ducks lifted as a result. Keeping our passes strong and looking down the court to bomb a pass into our goal circle resulted in some great action and much needed goals. The physical nature of the game did leave us one Duck down with Lou Dare injured in the fourth quarter. Feeling battered and a bit bruised our Ducks were determined to give it their best of which ended to be a very high scoring game.
The final score was Allstars 2 (60) to Dumbleyung (48). Not the result our Ducks were hoping for given our Ducks had beaten this team in the first round. Best players for this week included Carly Smith and Chloe McDougall.
Our Ducks play Kojonup 2 this Saturday 5 August at 1.30pm on Court 4 at the Katanning Leisure Centre. Good luck Ducks!

Some of the men were early at the golf too, but were busy measuring up for the new shed we hope to secure over the next season. Winners of the Wagin Panel and Paint sponsored day were Stephen Roberts 38points continuing on his merry way of good scores, runner-up Eric Gossage who was oiled up to the max with 37points and the Gross won by Paul Ward 22 points also continuing his good form.
The Executive committee pictured !!!! or they think they are, will need to stop making changes to the novelties on the day or be fined heavily. Welcome back to Jamie Dare from his tripping around the world and great to see Ricky Mott once again making a comeback.
Women's winner Tamara Bartram 33points, enjoying the great prize after a hard day at golf with her partner in crime and also runner-up, Davina Gossage who had some real awesome shots during the day with the lake on No 11 calling to her. Novelties Tamara Davina Stephen Paul.
Next week 5 August, Bunge will be our sponsor.

Dumbleyung Men's Hockey Club
It was looking to be a tough game with the minutes ticking by and no goals being scored for either team. After a while though Mark Smith was able to pull his famous tomahawk and pocket the first goal of the game for Dumbleyung.
All blacks soon retaliated though with a lucky goal that evened the score. Dumbleyung had another run on the ball with the defenders moving the ball forward on order for the attackers to force the ball towards the d. With this Mark Smith was able to gain control and have a hit from just inside the circle that went straight past the goalie.
Holding off the All Blacks the Dumbleyung men managed to walk away winners with a score of 2-1.
Better Player's Shane Hall, Mark Smith and Matt Gilfellon.
This week’s game is another home game at Stubbs Park at 3pm against Wagin. Come along and cheer on the men.
