Kukerin Bowling Club
Sunday’s triples competition was played in much more pleasant conditions. Once again some very good bowls were played and at the end of the day Kukerin’s Bev Davidson, Jenny Joyce, and Therese King had come through undefeated to be crowned Ladies League Champions season 2018-19 from Heather Lockyer, Patricia Barrett, Mary Browning of Kondinin.
In the men’s event the Newdegate team of Peter Walker, Harry Rick, and Geoff Richardson won their last game to win and become league champions. The Kukerin team of Graeme Smith, Tim Adams, and Ian Faulkner were in second position.
Next weekend will be a general bye from the pennant competition owing to the ladies Inter League Round Robin pairs being played at Mount Barker - best wishes to Bev Davidson who is Kukerin’s representative for the competition.
Next Sunday for anyone interested and available social bowls from around 3.00 pm. Pennants will resume on the following Saturday the 1st of December at Kukerin against Lake Grace.

Kukerin Dumbleyung Cricket Club
Losing the toss, Dumbleyung bowled first. Wickets fell consistently throughout their innings, but unfortunately this was one wicket every ten overs. Narrogin finished their innings on 4/234, a chaseable total on a small quick ground. Dame Leo was the pick of the bowlers with 2/42 of his ten overs.
The usual opening pair opened and as per usual one of them was out early. Matt Gilfellon and Kal Joyce set about chasing the total, with Matt making 44. Kal anchored the innings, finishing on 84 not out. Despite cameos from Scott Jefferis and Ryan Taylor, both making 22 in good time, the team finished short of the target, reaching 5/189.
There will be another home game this week in Kukerin, the last until February. It will be great to continue to get our supporters along.
