Dumbleyung Darts Club
John, Ducky and Willo started the first triples, coming from behind to win with Willo pegging a magnificent 120. Roadhouse Ricky and Tanya played the second triples and come from behind to win. We won the first 2 doubles and Tanya was thrown to the wolves and played a lone hand in the last of the doubles, but unfortunately could not pull a win. This put us in a good position, 4/1 up, going into the singles. We forfeited the first singles game to out missing player, John and Graham won the next 2 games, which gave us the game win. The last 3 games were lost and we ended winning 6/5.
Averages John 53.69 2 pegs, Willo 49.96 2 pegs, Roadhouse Ricky 37.81 1 peg, Ducky 37.41 1 peg and Tanya 31.56.
The game result did not mean much, as we are out of the grand final, but a 6/5 win with only five players is inspiration for next year!
The game was played in good spirit and we gave this team a good practise for when they play the in grand final, which was played at the GODI from 3 pm on Saturday September 15. Our association windup took place after the A & B grade games.

We had two comps on the day 9 holes which was won easily by Paul Ward with 18 points and he also snared the novelty on 10, to the relief and cheering of the men as none of them had hit the fairway, taking it off the Ladies Captain. The 18 hole combined Stableford was won by the inform Dave Wall and Howie Ward with 69 points with Dave winning 2 novelties and Howie the other, runners-up were Lee Smith and Tamara Bartram with 57 points.
Not much can be said about the golf except that the time spent in the bush looking for balls was exhausting and time spent on the putting green was very quick. Shot of the day though did go to Lee, who needed the par on 18 for a sticker. Hit off 18 tee then lo and behold you guessed it, in the bush once again to the left with only trees in front of him, pulls out some magical stick and just casually hits his ball which landed on the green and was putting for birdie, though only a par achieved - but was extremely excited! Great to see Gus Cook out for an interesting walk with the men and Graham Ball celebrating with us after.
Saturday is closing day sponsored by Clem Henry Shearing Contractor with a BBQ tea so could all please bring a salad/sweets to share and your footy colours.
