It was a very long way round for some on Saturday but with lovely weather and great sponsorship by Flexitrans who could complain.
Definitely not Jon Ward who was the men's winner, and perhaps more importantly Monthly Mug, with an outstanding 59 nett. The handicapper is sure to sharpen his pencil for this one. Runner up with a not to be sniffed at 65 Nett was Marc Ball whilst the ever consistent Dave Wall came in with a sound 84 to nab the Gross.
It was male glory with Scott Jefferis, Lee Smith, Howie Ward and Marc claiming the novelties. The Birdie competition was won by the in-form Lee who also pocketed the Putting competition with 26 putts. It must be noted that the very trying member who came in with 41 putts was extremely jealous and wished that was the stableford column.
Ladies winner was yet again the lovely Liz Dare, 75 Nett on count back from rocking Ronnie Ball who is also playing some great golf this year.
The night kicked on for some who made it in to the District Club to see Shane Hall complete his dare. Bob Hannah decided karaoke was something he hadn't done previously so took his chance to take the microphone. His first attempt was a great duet with Ken George. Much to wife Lola's horror he hit the floor again with not one but two more renditions. Well done Bob! You truly are inspiring and now we know what to get you for your 85th!
Ladies please note that the next Stroke round will stay as July 6th and NOT change dates as with the men (due to their clash with the Great Southern Carnival).
It looks like being a big post seeding golf week with the Harrismith Men's Midweek this Thursday, Lakeview Stableford sponsored by KRP Bookkeeping on Saturday and Sunday the Wagin Open. Men it may be advisable to get a few of those chores ticked off if you are looking at the trifecta.
