Dumbleyung Bowling Club

How sad, it's all over for now!! Time to catch up on all those house and garden jobs over winter. We'll be back into it in October.

Thanks to our captains Audrey and Russel for running an entertaining closing day. Shyacking and laughter was the order of the day.

A sad farewell to Cheryl Snell who is leaving us for greener bowling greens, a fabulous golf course and the beach on her doorstep. Just think of the wind Cheryl!!

Our AGM is scheduled for 7.00pm Thursday 26th April. Have to fit it in before Kitty takes off to Africa!

See you all there.

Kukerin Bowling Club

Last week-end 7th and 8th April the South Central Bowling League championship fours and singles for ladies and men were played at Karlgarin Bowling Club.  Saturday was the fours events and Kukerin teams fared well.  The ladies team of Bev Davidson, Debbie Smith, Claudia Faulkner and Therese King played well enough to win and are League champions for season 2017-18.   The men’s team of Graeme Smith, Peter Davidson, Jon and Tim Adams, played well to win four of five games, but lost very narrowly to Kulin in a high class game and were placed second to Kulin who won the event undefeated.

Sunday saw the League singles played and congratulations to Bev Davidson who won the event as was declared ladies league champion for 2017-18.   In the men’s event, Matthew King was unfortunately eliminated in sectional play by the eventual winner Bob Lockyer of Kulin.

This concludes all seasonal events so we wish all bowlers a good winter break and will look forward to renewing friendships and competition next season.

Dumbleyung Tennis Club

CLOSING DAY AT TENNIS
The Dumbleyung Tennis Club celebrated the end of a successful season on Saturday with the Championship Mixed Doubles, the highlight of the season for many. It was warm tennis weather with five pairs contesting the championship in very close and high quality tennis.   There were lots of close games played with plenty of tie breakers. Every team played each other with the two top pairs playing off in a final.

Winners were Ethan Henry and Tara Ball, defeating Jane Smith and Greg Bairstow in two sets, 6-0, 7-5.  Thank you to our sponsors on the day, Dongolocking Plumbing.

A BBQ dinner followed with great food and company to conclude the season.

The tennis club would like to thank our seasons sponsors of Katanning Sportspower, Dumbleyung Foodwise, Dumbleyung Farmers Centre, Clem Henry Shearing, Dumbleyung Roadhouse, Dumbleyung Ag Supplies, Wishbone Transport, Churchview Wines, Edwards Holden and Wagin Panel and Paint. Thank you also to the committee and Captain Glenn Ball. See you all in October for the start of the 2018/19 tennis season.

Dumbleyung Gymnastics Club

Hi everyone,

Major fundraiser for this year is the battery drive. Paul has done a great job collecting batteries even before the gym year has begun. A big thank you to Jason, Mel and Camille Smith, who rallied the troops around their neighbourhood and collected 5.2 tonne of batteries. Wow!!!! Now it's your turn, they can be dropped into Nyabing PS, the yabby farm or we can come to you for big amounts. Remember this is replacing our normal catering so please commit your support, even if it's just one battery.

Reminder if you haven't already voted or pestered members of your family and friends to vote we have been nominated as one of the top 25 clubs in Australia. Vote to help us win, follow the link below. VOTING FINISHES APRIL 15TH. > https://www.insidesport.com.au/clubbies/best-club
