DUMBLEYUNG -LAKEVIEW Ladies Open Day & Men’s Mid-Week 4BBB Stableford

It was a beautiful day for our midweek comp, absolutely fantastic spoils for the taking, sponsored by Grain Brokers and Dumbleyung Ag Supplies, with Chad and Scott Jefferis both playing on the day.  Chad mentioned that not much has changed at the club since last year, with George hitting straight down the middle with his big red and Jamie looking for the elusive wildflowers.

The day couldn't have been closer for the men with a 3way tie with Marc Ball and Lee Smith winning the Nett with 48points, runner-up nett - Tom Pearce and Scott Jefferis and 3rd nett Bob Hannah and Eric Gossage.  Gross was won by the ever reliable Ken and Jon Adams with 34 and runner up Trevor McCarly and Shane Woods, 32, the last minute find of the day.  NAGA was won by Michael Hesse and Jaap Pienaar.

The ladies Nett winners with 49points continuing their fine form were Margie Ward (who will surely break her handicap with 26points on one side by herself) and Karen Ward, runner-up Nett Cheryl Snell and Tamara Bartram with 45points and 3rd nett was Davina Gossage and Sharlene Powell on a countback with 41points.  Gross was won by Fe Thompson and Jan Painter from Wagin with 26points and runner-up Gross Ann Dolan, another late callup, and Lyn O'Brien with 21.

The Narga went to the birthday girl Claudia Faulkner and Stalwart, Liz Dare.   Novelties were won by an array of players have a lucky dip pick.  Thanks Hannah it is always a pleasure to see you come up with great new ideas and great trophies.  Congratulations must go to Davina and her crew for the great spread, feeding the multitudes - None went hungry.  Also to all of the Committee and members for the awesome work put into making a successful day.  Special thanks to Margie for all the extras, makes the life of a captain oh so easy.

Results of the Elimination - Stephen Roberts def Eric Gossage 2up, Eamonn Lanagan def Jamie Dare 4up, Davina Gossage def Margie Ward 4up and Tamara Bartram def Liz Dare 9up.  Finals to commence with the  Men to tee off at 8.30 Saturday 10 September,  the women to follow at 8.38 with the B Grade Final contestants  Bob Hannah and Lee Smith teeing off, after the A men and Awomen after lunch around 12.15pm.   The large contingent venturing to Harrismith saw - Ricky Mott and Stephen Roberts getting 4th in the nett on a countback.

Saturday 10th is a normal 12.30 start for all other players. Remember that our closing day is now Saturday 24 September please change on your calendars.
