Well what a fantastic turnout for the Wagin Jewellers - Gerard Hegarty sponsored day.  Gerard was not able to come out to play as he always likes to due to other commitments but he would have been proud of the great scores and worthy winners.

Mens winner at last 41points,  the old man time, dressed to perfection by Howie Wards Wardrobe of classics was Bob Hannah himself winning on a count back from young gun Paul Ward 41points went down to the last 3 holes.  Gross was Ricky Mott with an awesome 25points.

Ladies winner, relaxed after her holidays and looking forward to the next round, of holidays, with a best score of 40points was Ronnie Ball - straight down the middle.  Ronnie was heard to say mention that hubby would be at her beck and call that night.  Runner-up Tamara Bartram 34points and the Gross Cheryl Snell.

Karen Ward was seen on the golf course dusting out the cobwebs for the Holden Scramble to be played the next day.  Her 1st hit for the year.  Novelties were won by Jamie Dare and Ricky Mott x 2, Ron Snell, making a rare appearance and coming down from up North,  and Paul Ward.

Next week is the last qualifying round with a BBQ to follow,  sponsored by Burando Hill.  Please bring a Salad or sweet to share.

HOLDEN SCRAMBLE   14.8.16 WON BY LAKEVIEW LADIES

The Ladies Holden Scramble held in Katanning on the Sunday say 4 ladies travel for a fun day of golf.  Karen Ward her first game for the season, Margie Ward her 3rd game, Cheryl Snell and Tamara Bartram.

Well what a great day of golf; some of us saw a lot of bush, had a few windies, had the longest hitter Karen has ever seen in Margie and the ever reliable, Life member,  Karen coming in with what we thought was an okay score for us.  Karen and Tamara left early with Margie and Cheryl holding the fort which is just as well as we won the day with obviously a fabulous score of 60 5/8 , runners-up with a 61 and something.

So off to the playoffs in Mandurah- Halls Head in October.  Karen has already organised the scorer in ex member, Chris Ryan and the accommodation with Chris and Ashley.   A very excited team win.

Dumbleyung Allstars were defeated by Morans in the grand final, but we put up a great fight. We played at the Wagin Club with the B grade starting at 3pm and followed by our game. Final score was 6/3. We were 3 all after the second singles, but were outgunned after that.

Allstars has had a great year as we have never been this far up the ladder at the end of the year before, finishing second to Morans. Team players - Don O'donnell, Jayden Strahan, Tanya Kirk, John Lee, Peter Bartholomeus, Lyn and Graham Wilson, Jeremy Quinn, Megan Black.

After the grand final a windup dinner was held with pesentation of trophies. Good night was had by all. Thanks to the supporters who turned up, it sounded like a footy match at times.
Thanks also to the Kaye at the Grand Olde Tavern for the venue during the year.

Dumbleyung Netball Club

Dumbleyung versus Cardinals Fever

Our second last game for the season and the team welcomed back a few of netball stalwarts to the court in Lousia Dare, Jo Doney and Hanna Chiswell.  It was great to see them back on the court and playing like they had never left it!  Although, Monday morning may have been a different story!

This week we played against Cardinals Fever.  We played very well against Cardinals Fever in the first round with a final score of 33 – 22 in Cardinals favour.  And again we played very well against Cardinals Fever this round.

The first half was very low scoring.  Both sides showcased how tight their defence was with fantastic rebounds and the attack positions working superbly with their defence to get the ball down to their respective goal end.  At half time our Ducks were nine goals to Cardinals sixteen goals.

The second half was much higher scoring with each side’s Goal Shooter and Goal Attack having their eye in.  This made for a much more free flowing game and more accurate centre court passes.  Unfortunately for our Ducks the game ended in Cardinals favour 39 – 23.

The whole team is to be commended as all members had a great game. Kirra Roberts played her best netball on Saturday and everyone enjoyed the day. The teams energy levels and enthusiasm was quoted as being "awesome and everyone really had a great game".

Our final game for the season will be held this Saturday 20 August at 4pm against Katanning team, Fusion.  We would love to see as many supporters as possible to cheer our Ducks on for our last game and to join our team following the game for some fun to celebrate the end of our netball season.

Lake Grace - Kukerin Hockey Club

The girls played Bruce Rock with results being
C Grade 1-3
B Grade 1-0
