Congratulations to Dave Wall the men’s winner with 46points and a 77 off the stick, runner-up Marc Ball thought he had it made with a 38points and 88 off the stick but was overcome when he heard Dave’s score, but of course Marc has only been on the comeback trail for a few weeks so obviously will improve over the next month or so. The gross was won by Paul Ward. Novelties were won by Daniel McDougall, T Bartram, Dave Wall x 2 and Dave snared the Birdie hole the only one to score and not only 1 but 2 birdies for the day.
Women's winner, steamrolling, or golf-rolling everyone who tries to stand in her way with an awesome 36points was Liz Dare, runner-up Davina Gossage 31points – making some headway with improvement on her scores and has even taken her trusty putter home to get some expert advice and practice on this stroke in time for next week’s Stroke round and last qualifying. Gross T Bartram who needs to go back to hitting 100 balls and practising twice a day – just a slight chance there might be some improvement.
Next week will be sponsored by Burando Hill with your chance to improve on your position on the championship ladder, with the last Qualifying round of the season.
Please remember our midweek day on Thursday 30 August and get in early with a partner.

Dumbleyung Hockey Club
With one sub on the sideline and two ordinary games prior, it was an important game to win to help stay in the top 4 going into the finals.
The entire game was extremely hard work and there were plenty of opportunities but unfortunately the ball and sticks just couldn’t quite get them to goals. The defenders did a great job ensuring the all blacks couldn’t score either.
It appeared that they may walk away with a draw but with three minutes left on the clock, Ethan Henry sprung from the sideline, straight to his position, called for the ball, received it and went for a run into attack where in a matter of seconds he was able to poke the ball in the back of the goals.
With mere seconds left on the clock, the men ensured the defence was strong to cement the win of 1-0.
Better players were Andrew Shepherd, Courtney Bairstow and Shane Hall.
This week’s game is at 3pm at Stubbs Park against Riffs. Come along and support our men.
Dumbleyung Netball Club
Saturday August 11 was the last fixtured game for our Ducks playing against Olympians 2 on Court 4. All Ducks put training into practice and played well, remembering to land firmly, look across the court and make clear shoulder passes to team mates.
Though Olympians 2 also played well and unfortunately defeated our Ducks with a final score of Dumbleyung (20) to Olympians 2 (60). Best players for Dumbleyung included Clare Smith, Roisin Ball and Tegan Hall. Our Ducks should be proud of themselves this season with new team members and learning new positions, it’s been a fun filled and competitive year!
The Ducks have a bye this weekend as the rest of the Katanning Netball Association play in the final round for the season. Going into this weekend’s final round, Dumbleyung currently sit in third position on the ladder, and will learn of any finals hopes next week - watch this space!
