- Kukerin Bowling Club
- Dumbleyung Wednesday Ladies Tennis

Kukerin Bowling Club

Kukerin were at home to pennant leaders Kondinin last Saturday. In a very even contest which ebbed and flowed during the afternoon, both teams won two rinks each with Kondinin winning by the narrow margin of two shots resulting in a winning score of 6—2 to Kondinin.

On Sunday the club pairs commenced for both men and ladies.  The ladies event was played to a finish and after two very close games, Debbie Smith and Beverley Davidson came out winners and will represent the club at the League pairs in Lake Grace on 10th December.  The men’s competition is being played as a round robin and will be completed next Sunday.   Players are reminded that play will commence at twelve noon as there are three games to be played to finalise the event.

There is a bye in pennants next Saturday.  There will be social bowls on Friday afternoon commencing at 5.00 pm for all who are available.

Dumbleyung Tennis Club

"What a fabulous day of Pennant Tennis Dumbleyung Vs Tarin Rock at home on Sunday 6/11 16.  What a wild, windy day!!!  Dumbleyung came away with a great win - 23 sets 184 games to Tarin Rock 11 sets 132 games. Congrats to the five set winners: Kym Smith, Tamara Bartram, Megan Henry, Jane Smith, and lo and behold a man, well, a young teenager, Ethan Budda Henry -a great effort to keep the flag flying for the older men.  They all did play extremely well winning 10 of the mixed.

Special mention to the Captain of Tarin Rock, Daniel Gooding, who has upgraded his Dunlop volleys to a beautiful red Asics tennis shoe, the only reason someone said was because they don't make them anymore.  He did look quite the part especially with his new racquet and I believe today was wearing everything new but wasn't showing all.  This new look paid off with him winning 4 sets.  Well done everyone.  Tennis is the way to go.

Next week is Social on Friday with Pennants in Lake Grace.  For the Ladies Captain, Glennissssss will send a text later on in the week.

Dumbleyung defeated Tarin Rock 8 sets to 1 on Wednesday in Ladies Pennants. So far they have had a successful season with only one loss which was to Kukerin. Next week is a general bye for the Hyden Ladies Day, the following week on the 16th (Cassy’s Birthday) sees Dumbleyung heading to Katanning. After a warm day of play the ladies needed a nice cuppa in the cool CRC, absent is Hanna Chiswell.
