A Grade 2-1
Kukerin Dumbleyung Football Club
The KDFC D graders played their second game for the season in Dumbleyung on Sunday. With the oval looking good and plenty of sunshine the picture was set for a good day of footy.
Captain for the day was birthday boy Louis Davidson who didn’t have any luck with the coin toss and the Cougars were kicking into a stiff breeze first up. The cats had a few bigger boys on the ground and life was a little difficult in the first quarter as we found ourselves down by 5 goals at the first break. Kael Astbury was relishing his role in the middle of the ground and the backs were working hard. By half time we were still yet to register a goal as the Williams team kicked a few more goals themselves.
The second half was more of the same although Lucas Robinson kicked a goal for the Cougars in the last quarter which saw the crowd erupt with cheer and a few high fives from the kids were spotted.
It was another hard slog but the whole team put in a great effort again.
Best player- Miells Astbury
Mars bar kids- Kael Astbury & Jacob Oats - thanks to Ricky and Vicky once again for the awards.
This week’s game is in Kukerin.

Dumbleyung Wagin Junior Hockey
For the 2019 season an amalgamation with the Wagin Hockey Club has been formed due to a restructure of the junior competition and low player numbers.
The J7 Lakers team showed good promise and teamwork against Williams, which saw them run out as winners 5:1.
The J11 Lakers found themselves evenly matched against a strong Williams team. Both teams fought hard for a nil-all draw.
Well done to all players on a wonderful start to the season!

Lake View Golf Club
Winner on the day for the men, was early bird and 1st up game for the season, Garry Bateup with 44 points, with the runner-up Lee Smith narrowly winning with 41 points on a countback from Marc Ball. Gross was won by the ever-reliable Dave Wall 26. Mention also of Howie Ward wiping 3 holes and still scoring 40 points – looking good for the stroke round in a few weeks. Novelties were won by Lee Smith x 2, Sharlene and the Midalia Steel (they are sponsoring the hole for the whole year) No 13 hole winner was Davina Gossage.
Ladies winner was Sharlene Powell with 32 points, r/up Ronnie Ball with 27points. Gross was won by Margie Ward with 9. The scores weren't anything to write home about but a good contingent of women graced the fairways and enjoyed the golf at times. Mention must be made about gimmies - as your Ladies Captain says time after time, you do not have gimmies, only in match play, even if the putt is only 2" from the hole, as 1 tall lady golfer did miss the putt this week. Next week is Captains Choice with Dumbleyung Engineering sponsoring the day.
