FINALS FEVER!
Good luck to the Dumbleyung Netball Club and the Kukerin Dumbleyung Football Club B Grade side who are competing in their respective Grand finals this weekend!

Lakeview Golf Club

The KRP Booking keeping sponsorship day arrived with Kevin on board - alive and kicking, much to everyone's relief (though still not playing yet!!)  Kevin did say he might play a few holes on September 23 - closing day. Sharlene made her debut for the year and aquitted herself magnificently winning the Gross for the ladies - it was really wonderful to see both Kevin and Sharlene at golf.  Ladies winner was Tamara Bartram, with 41points being her best score for many years with 82 off the stick. Runner-up Margie Ward finished with an awesome 40points, blitzing the men's scores for a change.

Once again, the men’s winner was die hard Bob Hannah with 36points and also winning the birdie hole which had jackpotted. Runner-up was Dave Wall on 34points and gross was won by Graham Ball.  It should be a good final between Bob and Graham on Saturday in the B Grade.

Novelties Margie Ward x2, T Bartram x 2, D.Wall and G.Ball.  Don't forget to register your name with the captains for this Friday September 8. A big Ladies and Men's day is sponsored by Dumbleyung Ag Supplies -Scott Jefferis and Hannah Chiswell and Grain Brokers Chad Jefferis.  Hit off time is 11.30am so make sure you get there by 11.00.  Please contact Davina for the catering if you have not done so already.

Finals will be over 36 holes on Saturday September 9 In the Men's Eric Gossage v Stephen Roberts at 8.25am and ladies Tamara Bartram v Elizabeth Dare 8.30am.  The B Grade is 27 holes commencing 10.30am with Bob Hannah and Graham Ball- good luck to all playing this weekend! This will also be a regular golf day for other players.

Ducks into Grand Final after epic win!
Dumbleyung’s supporters were not left disappointed, in what was anticipated to be a tough preliminary final!  Dumbleyung and Broomehill were evenly matched last week with seven players and strategic match ups across all positions on the court.

Broomehill were fired up and converted every error Dumbleyung made in the first quarter in to goals.  At the end of the first quarter, our Ducks left the court frustrated and disheartened – we were six goals down.  The remainder of the game did not look good, but the wise words of Game Day Coach Katrina Gray, lifted every player and their determination to secure the win.

Our best play took place in the second and third quarters, with all players chasing every loose ball, holding leads and passing the ball smartly which converted in to those precious goals.  Our Ducks had rattled Broomehill and made a ground finishing one goal up in the second quarter and found themselves six goals up at the end of the third quarter.  The fourth quarter brought out the tight contests, tiring players with a ball that yo-yoed from one end of the court to the other - without a goal being scored. Our Ducks kept their composure and spirits high, fighting til the end.

In a brilliantly played game by both teams, the final score was Dumbleyung (50) to Broomehill (42).  Congratulations Ducks, on making it into the Grand Final!  An epic win which was celebrated from the beaches of Cape Leveque to the snow fields of Falls Creek.  Well done Ducks!

On Saturday September 9, the Katanning Netball Association Grand Final day commences with the Seniors competition at 1.30pm and our ‘ducks’ will play in Division 2 game on Court 1 (Olympians 2 v Dumbleyung).  We would love to see as many supporters come along to watch our game.  Best of luck to our Ducks!
