Lakeview Golf Club
The diehard members vying for a good qualifying stroke round to obtain a place in the top 8, and of course to win the Monthly Mug, saw Bionic Man, Eric Gossage, once again taking top honours with an 80 off the stick 67nett, with a few hard luck stories even with this great score. Runner-up was the cheeky young gun, Lee Smith, shooting 87/ 68nett from the hip, closely followed by the Gross winner Dave Wall with an 87/68nett. Saddest story though, with his putting letting him down was Captain Jamie Dare, missing at least 1 eagle and 3 birdies and only just making the pars.
The ladies winner, after losing a stroke, was T Bartram 95/74nett and she was pleased to have at least one good 9holes and runner-up was Liz Dare who at times had some great 1 putts. Liz did mention that she enjoyed the walk and the company and both agreed that it was better than staying home and working. The putting competition was won by Eric with 24 putts. Novelties were won by Dave Wall, Stephen Roberts, Lee Smith and Eric Gossage. Next week, 27th May, will be a Stableford, sponsored by AFGRI Wagin.
Don’t forget that Lakeview Dumbleyung is holding the Great Southern Men’s 4BBB Championships on Saturday, 10th June, so make sure you get your nominations in. If anyone is able to help on the day please give Eric Gossage, Jamie Dare or Tamara Bartram a ring or email firstname.lastname@example.org.

Kukerin Golf Club
Saturday 20th of May saw a much cooler day than in the previous weeks. This was well received as the flies among the jam trees and york gums had gotten a bit beyond a joke. Play for the day was a Hidden Partners stableford playing for the Across the Lake(AtL) sponsored Browning trophies. Thank you very much to Derek and Kristie for their sponsorship.
Five Lake Grace players ventured to Kukerin for the day along with visitors John Browning and son in law Chris Ryan.
Later in the day, Kristie Stanton and kids came out to Kukerin along with Kristie’s mum, Shirley Hobley (nee Browning). The extra numbers for the day made for a terrific gathering in the clubhouse after play.
At presentations John Browning spoke on behalf of the family and mentioned how proud they are that their late father Alan Browning was a foundation member of the Kukerin Golf Club. He also said that it was great for the family to get back to Kukerin and enjoy the day among some old friends.
Ladies winners for the day were Marnie West and Debbie Smith with 71 points. Not missing out, Jenny Joyce received a couple of AtL bottles of red as the unlucky runner up. Sweep winner was Debbie Smith.
Seven pairs of men vied for their prizes with Chris Ryan and Scott Gray on 71 points claiming the goodies. Scott did remark that Chris must've had a good day. Runners up on 65 were Craig Reeves and Tim Adams. Sweep winners were Kingy and Frisky with JA and Mark Seaman nabbing the other.
The individual winners with their names to go on the cup were Marnie West on 38 for the ladies and not to be outdone, Ian Faulkner for the men - also with 38 points.
There were also a number of novelty winners for the day. Reevo grabbed 3, Chris Ryan 2, and 1 each to Timmy, JA, Bazza, Jenny J and Mark Seaman. There were 2 other pins but they disappeared somewhere. Overall, it was another very enjoyable Browning trophy day and one that we all forward to each year.

B grade 0-1. Award to Karen Faulkner.
A grade 3-2. Award to Stevie Sutherland.
Saturday May 20, all the teams of the Roe District Hockey Association headed to Narembeen ( we also played Narembeen) for the Gala day. We were very lucky that it didn't rain while playing up there but the sky decided to sprinkle a little when we headed home but it wasn't much.
C grade are improving every week and are becoming more confident as the season goes on. Unfortunately they lost 4-0. The award this week went to Claire Faulkner.
B grade were a bit dull in the first half but after coach Mel Ogilvie gave them a rev up at half time they all played a lot better but unfortunately lost 2-0. Award went to Lauren Bushby for getting out some aggression and lifting in the second half.
A grade was a great game of hockey to watch with it being fast paced and the girls all working well together. The A grade had 2-1 win with goals from Mel and Amber. No award for A grade.
Thanks Tracy and Danielle for umpiring
This week Souths will head to Bruce Rock.

Dumbleyung Men's Hockey Club
The Dumbleyung hockey men were fronted up by Riffs from Narrogin on Saturday May 20th, at Stubbs Park, Dumbleyung. With plenty of local spectators keen to see a win, the game got underway. Dumbleyung had most of the play in the first half and Scott Angwin managed to slot a goal in but unfortunately Riffs came back with a goal not long after to level the score. It looked to be a tough game from here on in with Riffs trying a few tricks and plenty of massive flocks to bypass the Dumbleyung players. With 3 subs on the sideline there was always plenty of fresh legs and Dumbleyung were able to outrun Riffs. Scott Angwin was able to gain another 2 goals which gave Dumbleyung a win of 3-1 over long-time rivals. This is always a sweet victory, so well done to all players. It was a great game and picking better players would have been a tough job. Thanks to the umpires as well and a special thank you to the spectators for cheering the men on. It was also Michael Atkins last game before his move north. All the best Michael and we expect you back for finals! Better Players were Marshall Henry, Scott Angwin and Michael Atkins.
Next game is Saturday 27th May 2017 at 8.20pm in Narrogin against Williams.

Dumbleyung Netball Club
The Dumbleyung Ducks played Cardinals Force on Saturday 20th May with Chloe McDougall leading our team as our captain for the season, after being voted in by her team mates last week.
The match began goal for goal, with our Ducks sitting four goals down at the first and second quarter. It was a fast paced game with a significant number of goals scored by both teams (thus centre passes) and all players needing to be vigilant throughout the game or face being penalised for simple errors.
At the third quarter, Cardinals Force made some significant team changes that resulted in them becoming a force to be reckoned with! Carly Smith, Ally Peters and Hanna Chiswell made some spectacular intercepts which converted to goals, with Kirra Roberts, Roisin Ball and Katrina Gray providing additional pressure in defence. Chloe McDougall and Lou Dare were kept on their toes in our goals, working very hard to have an opportunity to score. But the day went to Cardinals Force who sealed the fourth quarter scoring 24 goals to our six.
The final score: Cardinals Force (75) to Dumbleyung (43). Best players for Dumbleyung included Chloe McDougall, Ally Peters and Carly Smith.
Round five, Saturday 27th May see Dumbleyung play Allstars 1 on Court 2 at 3.00pm. Good luck Ducks!
