Hi everyone. Yes, it’s the time of year again to get those bowls uniforms out and see if they have shrunk or stretched during the winter. (Not your body shape changed?) The Kukerin Bowling Club’s opening day for season 2018-19 will be held next Sunday 30th of September and all intending players are asked to please have names in by 1.30 pm.
The club extends a warm welcome to everyone who would like to join us and enjoy a game of bowls and socialising after play.
At the A.G.M. held earlier in the year the following office bearers were elected for the coming season. President, P. Davidson. Secretary, T. Adams. Treasurer, B. Davidson. Captain, R. Ditchburn.

Life membership to Eric Gossage (pictured right with wife Davina and children Stuart, Tiffany and Hayden).
Thank you to everyone who kept this big surprise from Eric but especially from wife Davina - who always knows what's going on. Son Hayden had Eric's whole family in on the secret and watching Eric when they walked in the club house was just mint, especially when he saw his Dad.
Closing Day saw a great crowd hit off at different times to catch the football or not! A few members braved Perth to watch their beloved Eagles have a great win. Our sponsor Clem Henry couldn't make it due to other commitments (not too sure if he also went to the footy) but we thank him for his continuous generous sponsorship of our day. The heat did affect some and not others who had carts or played in the morning.
A big thank you to fill in Men's Captain, Paul Ward for running the show for the day. Final winners were Eric Gossage, Bob Hannah, Graham Ball 59.2 nett with an 11.8 handicap. Runners-up Liz Dare, Ronnie Ball, Tamara Bartram 62 nett with a 15 handicap, a sterling job to get runner-up with an all girls team. NAGA was convincingly won by Tim Dowdell, Graeme Jose, Dave Wall, Margie Ward with 64 1/4nett on a 7 3/4 handicap.
President, Eric thanked everyone, committee, members, non-members whom without we would not survive over the year, for the wonderful help and commitment to making our golf club such a great place to go to - always playing that extra hole No 19 with gusto, stories and great comradeship.
Results over the year’s play. Most Improved Man was Jon Ward donated by the Mott Family. Most Improved Woman was Sharlene Powell donated by the Williams family. Eclectic winner was Daniel McDougall, runner-up Dave Wall; Women winner was Tamara Bartram, runner-up Margie Ward. Championships winner was Eric Gossage, runner-up Lee Smith, B Grade Bob Hannah, Women Tamara Bartram, runner-up Davina Gossage.
