Well Done to Orson Bairstow who won the 2016 Upper Great Southern Hockey Association (UGSHA) Fairest and Best for the junior competition. Sister Danée Bairstow won the same award in 2014, both following in the footsteps of mother, Carmen Bairstow, who won the same award for the Central Great Southern Hockey Association in 1985.
Congratulations to Carmen Bairstow who also came home with the Coaches Award at the 2016 UGSHA Windup earlier this month!

Lakeview Golf Club
It was a beautiful day for the closing of golf sponsored by Clem Henry Shearing Contractor. A small but elite group of players played a 3 man Ambrose with banter commencing before the 1st ball was hit. One team having 4 members were told that 4 people always win this event against 3 men, and they didn't disappoint the crowd, even though the opponents did try every trick in the book whilst walking around the course.
Maybe they should have concentrated more on their golf and not on how everyone could be penalised, with of course the Captain having the last say of the day. Wildflowers were photographed yet again, with players having quite a few wayward shots in the bush. Personally the Captain is tired of bushwalking, if you’ve seen one flower seen them all! (Though they are unique).
Final winners were: Cheryl Snell, Jamie Dare, George and Tamara Bartram with 69g, 57nett & 12 handicap, Runners-up were Karen Ward, Sharlene Powell and Lee Smith 71g, 59.5nett & 11.5 handicap comment was made in this group that "we didn't bother hitting as Lee hit it out of sight straight down the fairway". Novelties were won by an array of members.
President Eric Gossage thanked all our Sponsors throughout the year, members for their fantastic work throughout the season and will get back to everyone after Country Week regarding a busy bee to bring in signs etc.
