Dumbleyung Offshore Fishing Club
This year we've decided to head to Emu Point, Albany & staying at Rose Gardens Caravan Park for the family fishing weekend. They are reserving some area for the people who would like to go down. It's on the middle weekend of school holidays, Friday 29th- 3rd October. Obviously you can stay for as little or as long as you want. (We've got great numbers booked in already!!)
They are giving us a 10% discount on accommodation, but you will have to book your own camping spot, (I’m pretty sure all chalets are now booked out, but chalets very close by at other places should be available still. Havana Villas are about 200m away & Big4 Emu Beach is about 500m away). Powered sites at Rose Gardens will cost you roughly $40 a night (that's for 2 adults) plus about $12 per night for every extra person over 2yrs old staying with you. There will be parking available for boats/dinghies etc.
It's also AFL grand final weekend. Hopefully the weather is nicer than last year & we can get some good fishing in with the kids! If you don't have fishing gear or boats or limited experience - don't stress. There will be plenty of people & gear to help everyone have some fun! You can book on 98441868 & I spoke to Pete there & he's all over it!! For more info call Lee Smith on 0427637242.

The Dumbleyung Gymnastics Club were again privileged to take part in the Southern Regional Gymnastics Association Regional Championships held in Katanning. The event takes place over two full days with Levels ranging from 1 -7 in Men’s (MAG) and Women’s (WAG) events. Glamourous Leotards, glitter, honed muscles and a tonne of grit and determination are evident and on display from all 7 Clubs that travel (some great distances) and compete.
Paul Nenke and Grey Mycock are our two incredible MAG Coaches and they were first cab off the rank with an early start. This year 6 Boys competed; 5 in level 1, and 1 in level 2. They participate in 6 apparatuses, P Bars, Pommel, Rings, Floor, Vault and High Bar. Our lad’s efforts this year was phenomenal with 5 Gold Medals bagged by Xavier Nenke, Max Coad, Preston Smith, Cambell Johnston, Miells Astbury and a silver medal for Flynn Bartram. Cambell Johnston was also awarded Overall Champion Boy for Level 1 and Miells Astbury Overall Champion Boy Level 2. A sensational result and well deserved rewards for all the boys who have worked so hard.
The girls, WAG events, consist of Vault, Floor, Bars and Beam. Dedicated Head Coach Amanda Nenke and Helen Kirby were on the floor with 2 Level 1 gymnasts Katie Gray and Emma Dolan. A fantastic effort by both girls who were competing for the first time, incredibly both achieved a Gold Medal and Katie Gray the Overall Champion Girl for Level 1. Camille Smith competed in Level 2 and put in a huge effort to win a Gold Medal and Overall Champion for Level 2. What a sensational start to Regionals it was.
With such great results in the Competition so far the Level 3 Girls were feeling the pressure. To their credit they all put forward a magnificent performance. Gabrielle Nenke, Tandice Smith and Tamika Cross all were awarded Gold Medals for their efforts with Gabrielle Nenke winning the Overall Champion Girl for Level 3. This was the icing on the cake for the Club. What a wonderful weekend for everyone involved.
The Dumbleyung Gymnastic Club is a Two Term Club that trains twice a week in Term 3 leading up to Competition. Other Clubs train all year round and it is a testament to both the Coaches and Gymnasts and the commitment they show to have achieved such high standards this year at Regionals. The Club was also awarded Champion Club for the second year in a row.
Whilst the Coaches may have been initially surprised at the amazing results by all athletes we are so pleased to see the children being rewarded for their successes as they all have worked incredibly hard. A big thank you to all the parents who have brought their kids every week and to those who have helped out throughout the season. We appreciate you. See you next year.

Lake View Golf Club
Next week is the final day so come along and enjoy the Clem Henry Shearing Ambrose, Clem might even make an appearance and play, BBQ tea, please bring a salad or sweet and the presentations for the year - be there or be square.
The ladies noticed quite a few wildflowers on the day and can show you lots of different places on the course as opposed to what ones sees when the men go bush. Davina scoring a birdie to go into the very popular Birdie Hole draw, which had jackpotted and was won by the young tall gun, Matty Dare.
There wasn’t a lot of exciting news from the Lake View participants who attended the Holden Scramble in Kukerin on Sunday. Despite beautiful weather and great course conditions they weren’t able to do a repeat and send a team off to the next level in the hope of that amazing Queensland berth. It was suggested that one team having two carts may have been part of their downfall. Davina Gossage managed to beat Ross Ditchburn’s nearest the pin to bring back a bottle of wine but there didn’t seem to be any LV males mentioned in the winning novelties circle.
Well done to Matty Dare on being an integral part of the runner up team, just missing out on being sent to the Regional competition. See Kukerin Scrambles story for more details.

Dumbleyung Netball Club
In another fantastic night to celebrate the conclusion of our communities Winter Sports, our Dumbleyung Ducks swapped netty uniforms for black and white glamour at the Black and White Masquerade themed awards night.
The Fairest and Best vote count was a tight contest right to the last game of the qualifying season, ending in a one-point difference between Carly Smith (Fairest and Best winner) and Chloe McDougall (Runner-up Fairest and Best). It was a brilliant season for centre court player Carly and goal shooter Chloe, who both provided much strength across the court, gutsy determination to chase down any loose balls as well as intercept any pass in spectacular fashion.
Other Netball awards for the night included:
Coaches Award Hanna Chiswell
Most Improved Kirra Roberts
Association Award Chloe McDougall
Club Girl Chloe McDougall
Congratulations to Carly, Chloe, Hanna and Kirra on your much deserved awards and your brilliant 2017 netball season!
But the night belonged to Katrina Gray, who has become the third person to be inducted to the Dumbleyung Netball Club as a Life Member. Lousia Dare, a Life Member of the Dumbleyung Netball Club, made a heartfelt presentation to Katrina in front of more then ninety people to begin the nights’ celebrations.
“Katrina is the kind of club member and teammate everyone loves to have, passionate and committed, and still able to have a laugh on court around the Club. Her experience and energy is extraordinary and it appears nothing is too difficult or too challenging for her, to not succeed and accomplish great things. The Club is richer for having her here and we know she has many years of netball left!”.
Congratulations Katrina on your Life Membership to the Dumbleyung Netball Club! You are now well and truly a #Nettychickforlife!
