Last weekend’s Kukerin Dumbleyung game review below.
The Cougars travelled to Brookton on Sunday May 27th with both A and B grade coming home with a win. This weekend the Cougars will play Wickepin in Kukerin on Saturday June 3rd with the premiership reunions to follow the A grade game. All are welcome and encouraged to come along and support the team.

Ladies winner was a jubilant Ronnie Ball with 38 points and runner up was the captain’s mother, Liz Dare. Cheryl Snell retuned from her travels to secure the Gross.
After a stressful last hole, one lady was too exhausted to sign her card and was DQ'd much to the great amusement of the men; most predominantly the captain who seemed to announce this turn of events with much vigour!
Jamie Dare was the men's winner, with a reasonable 39 points and runner up Howie Ward, with 38.
Club champion Stephen Roberts had two windies in a row (apparently before making it to the ladies tee!) but still managed to secure the gross with 17 points.
There were numerous novelties, thanks once again to the fantastic sponsorship, and these were collected by: Dave Wall Numbers 1 & 17, Matt Frame Number 5, Jamie Dare Number 9 and Howie Ward Number 18. An extra special novelty prize was awarded to the aghast Minjee Lee wannabe.
Birdie hole was won by Jamie Dare, and it was duly noted that this was a great improvement from last week’s misses.
Next week is an ever popular par round, sponsored by Kukerin Rural Supplies.
Welcome back to our lovely local resident and secretary, Canadian Margie Ward. You have been greatly missed and we are all pleased you are here to put us back on track.
Don't forget to keep June 10th free as all hands will be needed on deck for the Great Southern 4BBB. A meeting will be held on Thursday 1st June, 7.30pm at the Dumbleyung District Club to discuss and finalise this further. The ladies will meet on Tuesday 6th June to clean the club house and on Friday 9th June to assist with food preparation. Keep an eye out for emails and texts regarding food requirements, help on the day, busy bees and more details.

Dumbleyung Netball Club
This week saw our Ducks playing against the 2016 Premiership Runners-up Allstars 1. It was a hard fought game for a variety of reasons but one particular standout was very obvious – height! Allstars 1 have many tall players, which is perfect for the game of netball!
But good things come in small packages and our Ducks produced some great passages of play throughout the game. Carly Smith dominated the centre court with many intercepts throughout the game, with Lou Dare, Ally Peters and Kirra Roberts working solidly in defence. Hanna Chiswell, Chloe McDougal and Katrina Gray were tested within the land of giants and incredibly, were able to weave their magic to score a good tally of goals.
The final score: Allstars 1 (69) to Dumbleyung (27). Best players for Dumbleyung included Lou Dare, Chloe McDougall, Ally Peters and Kirra Roberts.
This weekend sees a fixtured bye for the Katanning Netball Association with the “Smarter than Smoking” Association (Netball) Championships being held at Wembley Sports Park. Good luck to the Katanning Netball Association teams who are participating in this competition.
Round six commences Saturday 10thJune with Dumbleyung to play Kojonup 2 on Court 2 at 3.00pm.
On a special note, big congratulations to two of our netball stars, Dumbleyung Netball Club President, Roisin Ball and our Secretary, Amanda Gilfellon, who will be welcoming babies late spring! Article by P.Gooding
