On Wednesday April 25 we will recognise ANZAC Day, a day of remembrance for those who have served for our country. To commemorate the event and keep the spirit of the ANZAC alive, the Department of Veteran Affairs supplies libraries across the country with new books detailing our history. This year we have received the book, ‘Curiosity- Stories of those who report during wartime’. Previous books includes stories of – Multicultural Anzacs, Heroic Australians in wartime, Australian innovation in wartime and Australia’s wartime nurses. Be sure to pop into the library to view or loan any of these books!
We recognise this year's ANZAC day in Dumbleyung at the ANZAC memorial site on Absolon Street. Those wanting to march in the parade are asked to assemble outside the CRC at 11.15am with the service to follow at 11.30am. Following the memorial, a light luncheon will be served at the Dumbleyung District Club, where everyone is welcome to attend.
