Dumbleyung held the annual Lawn Classic Saturday February 18th and Sunday February 19th and it could be said that it was once again a great success. Sixty four players competed on Saturday and fifty two played on Sunday. Many travelled to play on both days with players from Cowaramup, Narrogin, Katanning, Kojonup, Highbury, Wagin, Cranbrook and Perth.  Cowaramup Tennis Club has been frequenting the Classic for seventeen years and always come along for great tennis and lots of good company.

Plenty of great prizes for winners and runners up were provided by our wonderful sponsors; Wishbone Transport, Flexitrans, Dumbleyung Ag Supplies, Dumbleyung Roadhouse, Churchview Wines and Windsor Lodge.

Michelle Carew- Reid cooked a delicious roast for eighty people on Saturday night. The Saturday night meal is always well received after playing tennis all day. Thank you to everyone who helped out in the kitchen over Friday, Saturday and Sunday and a special thanks to Michelle.

Thanks also to our ever present life members Howie Ward, Jane Smith & Tamara Bartram who are still helping out in our club in lots of ways.

Congratulations to President Jamie Dare and his team at the Dumbleyung Tennis Club who put in many hours to make this wonderful weekend such a success.  Jamie would like to thank all the helpers throughout the weekend, from the busy bee on Friday arvo, to kitchen helpers and barmen, to the players who manned the desk to the tidy up crew on Sunday night, we appreciate your help.
